Yokohama for dinner
Patrick came to meet me after work and took me for dinner in Yokohama. It’s actually only 25 minutes or so by train, not at all difficult.
We had dinner in Chinatown, which was disappointing food-wise but the Chinatown itself was a good place to see. I think if I wasn’t starving to death at the time we might have taken the time to chose a better place to eat, so I will give it another try before judging.
There were lots of stalls on the streets selling Chinese charms and bits and pieces, and most of them had little robotic pandas walking about in circles in front. Very cute, but noisy, so too annoying to take home. Some of the mini-robo-pandas also had evil looking green lights for eyes which were a little scary, but very funny.
There were plenty of shops selling moon-cakes and other delicious things so I had moon-cake and Patrick had roasted chestnuts for supper.
We walked along the water front and saw a performer making balloon sculptures, but we moved on quickly due to Patrick’s talent for being picked out of a crowd by street performers intent on embarrassment.
A good way to spend a Sunday evening.
