The Reason I Love the Internet.

I just found the best website since sliced bread.

Patrick and I have thousands of photographs stored on various computers about the place, and badly organised DVDs and CDs full of the same everywhere.

Since we have been on Tokyo and taking far more photos than usual, I have started to wonder what on earth we are going to do with them all. I have thought a couple of times I must get around to buying a photo album here with a Japanese theme that could store all our favourites, although I find it hard to get a good album, and impossible to find one for a reasonable price.

I practised making some myself last year which turned out quite nicely so that is one possible solution. THEN I have to get around to getting all the photos printed, which is a hassle because I am lazy, and it’s far too expensive in Melbourne, not sure about Tokyo.

So, back to the website that appears to have solved all my problems…

Blurb.com allows users to create their own book design including photographs and text and prints then posts the book back to the user.

I have only just begun playing with the provided software, so can’t vouch for the finished product or quality of service, but so far all seems very promising.

The examples included are of cookbooks, books created from blogs (!!), Wedding albums… So many possibilities!!

Considering the price of a decent photo album and the cost of printing photographs these days, this option seems too good to be true at the moment… Fingers crossed it’s as good as it looks!
