Weekend AGAIN
My working week flies by. Before I know it it is the weekend again. I am very happy with this.
Wednesday is cleaning day and Thursday is sightseeing day, so hopefully the weather improves by Thursday, it has been a bit shit so far this week.
I should add exercise and study in there somewhere too….
I find in Australia it is too easy to avoid strict exercise as there is an abundance of people around that are obviously in far more dire need of exercise than myself. I feel quite athletic just by avoiding McDonalds and walking an hour or so a day.
Here, on the other hand, I am roughly twice the size of the average girl on the street and must shop in the ‘Queen Size’ Department if I want to buy any new clothes. Hmm. Definately a motivation for slimming down a bit.
Unfortunately all the clothes here fit Patrick so his shopping habits continue unabated.
I was a little suprised by the general fashion here. There is a very large proportion of females wearing very tiny skirts, and very long boots, with very high heels. A large proportion of those cant actually walk properly in the boots either. It all looks very uncomfortable. Patrick came home the other day and reported with glee that he had seen a girl’s underpants, her skirt was so short.
This is all matched with big hair and a LOT of makeup. Not what I expected… I do spend most of my time near Shibuya and Harajuku, so this may not be a good representation of the general population here.
Another odd thing I see a lot is young(ish) people of both sexes with ridiculously dark tans. I had thought at first they may have been members of some Japanese minority people, but it seems they are just victims of another fashion trend.
Often the dark, dark tan is matched with white eye shadow and lipstick, making for an… unusual style.
Some of them are just plain scary.
