Optical Illusion

I am so, so excited about getting back to Hefei that I have already packed my bag.

How ridiculous! I am not sure I have ever got my bag packed more than a day in advance before. It makes it easy that I only have a few summer clothes I wear here, so all my winter things can go away… but still..

I am really looking forward to seeing our apartment, to buying furniture and to making it all homely. I am going to learn to sew and cook all sorts of Chinese food well…. Ahh so exciting!

Every now and then though, I fell my brain rotting away, just a little bit.

How is it that I studied for so long to do something I loved so much and then suddenly just forgot about it? It’s a little weird really and I am sure it says something bad about my personality.

I have had a few moments when I missed my work a little, like the time a few weeks ago that I set off into a really detailed explanation of the causes and effects of epilepsy to a group of slightly bemused English conversation students.

Just to make sure I stay in the loop, I added Neuroscience and Mental Health to my StumbleUpon interests the other day so as I can stumble upon some interesting websites that may actually get my brain working a little sometimes.

Somewhere along the way today, I found this optical illusion which I haven’t seen before. It still has my mind spinning.

checkerboard

The squares marked “A” and “B” are exactly the same shade of grey.

Don’t believe me?

Incredible. Actually, I didn’t believe you, so I checked the colours with a colour-picker, and both squares are identical. In the above image both squares have an RGG Hex value of #787878. This is a good find. I look forward to seeing more.

    Thanks Johno,
Even though I checked it for myself (a couple of times), I still don’t believe me either.

My brain is itchy just thinking about this. I haven’t checked with a colour picker, but I believe you too :-)
